Welcome (or to some, “Welcome Back”) to Legal HIE! What started off casually as a blog over 10 years ago is now back — but BETTER! Let us tell you a little bit more about what Legal HIE is today . . .
It’s still a Blog.
After Legal HIE originally launched in 2010, it quickly became a wildly popular blog and “go to” resource for many readers looking to find the “latest and greatest” information about legal developments affecting the electronic exchange of health information. In fact, in April 2012 the National eHealth Collaborative cited our blog in its Health Information Exchange Roadmap as a “Helpful Resource” (see Appendix B). Today, our free blog articles continue to keep readers on top of important legal developments and offer our authors’ perspicacious insights into all things related to the electronic exchange of health information! Stay on top of legislative and regulatory changes to HIPAA, 42 C.F.R. Part 2, data breach laws, government enforcement, Health IT, Information Blocking, Mobile Apps, the TEFCA and networked HINs, lawsuits, research, telehealth, and more. Visit our Home page to see all the awesome content that is already available to you. Don’t miss future posts! Sign up here to receive our free blog articles sent directly to your email in-box.
It’s a Compliance Resource Library!
Need help staying on top of compliance with rapidly changing developments related to the electronic exchange of health information? As of 2021, Legal HIE now also offers an option to subscribe to our back-end compliance library! Subscribe here to an annual Membership and gain access to a treasure trove of sample policies, forms, one-of-a-kind tools, training materials, research whitepapers, “quick-links,” and other content to help you keep your organization’s compliance program up-to-date. Content has been developed and refined by Helen and Krystyna for over a decade. Now you can gain access to what started out as a personal organized resource library of two accomplished attorneys, and continues to be updated to reflect the most recent legislative & regulatory changes, guidance, and best practices. Click here for a copy of the Table of Contents reflecting content currently in our back-end library.
It’s HIPAA Help!
HIPAA Helpers©
Subscribe to a Legal HIE annualMembership and you now also automatically gain access to our HIPAA Helpers© containing one-of-a-kind tools, sample policies, forms and documents. What’s different about our HIPAA Helpers© resource? A subscription to Legal HIE gives you access to updates made to the HIPAA Helpers© for one (1) year — something that a “static” pack of HIPAA forms does not offer! We update our HIPAA Helpers© to reflect new important HHS/OCR Guidance, HHS FAQs, OCR HIPAA Settlements, and of course any regulatory changes to the Privacy Rule, Security Rule and Breach Notification Rule. HIPAA Helpers© have been developed and refined by our attorney Authors for over a decade in response to the real needs of the numerous organizations they have personally worked with. Click here for a copy of the Table of Contents reflecting HIPAA Helper© content currently in our library.

A subscription to Legal HIE will also give you access (scheduled to launch by the end of 2023) to robust training content that is tailored to practical, real-life use cases and “high-risk” workforce behaviors that commonly lead to violations of HIPAA. HIPAA Trains© are tailored to the following audiences:
